Turkey ranch roll-ups

34

Pinwheels, the lunchbox and party standby: herbed cream cheese rolled into a tortilla with turkey and lettuce, chilled, then cut into spirals. Fifteen minutes, no heat, and they hold up for hours on a plate.

Ingredients

Every ingredient links to its food page — same data, same score, same formula.

Steps

  1. Beat the cream cheese with the yogurt, dill, spring onion, garlic powder and pepper until spreadable. The yogurt is what takes it from a block to a spread without a splash of cream.
  2. Spread it right to the edges of each tortilla — the edge is the glue that stops the spiral unrolling.
  3. Lay on the turkey and the shredded lettuce, keeping the filling thin and even. A fat log cuts into ragged pinwheels.
  4. Roll up tight, wrap each log in cling film and chill at least 30 minutes.
  5. Unwrap and cut into 2 cm (¾-inch) rounds with a sharp knife, discarding the untidy ends (cook's perk).

Can I make them the night before?

Roll and chill them whole overnight, but slice on the day — cut faces dry out and curl in the fridge.

How scores work

Computed on the finished dish, not an average of the parts: 1485 kcal goes into the pot, 742 g of ingredients comes out as ~740 g of food → 201 kcal per 100 g. Cooking moves water, and energy density is the score's biggest lever — so we show the math. Full formula here.

Computed from the ingredients' USDA data — nothing typed by hand. Every number is traceable, every score recomputable.
