Egg bites
The coffee-shop favorite, rebuilt in a muffin tin for a fraction of the price: eggs blended with cottage cheese for that signature silky texture, studded with spinach, pepper, and cheddar. A batch covers four breakfasts — grab, reheat, done.

Both directions are legitimate — the score measures fullness per calorie, not virtue. Every version is the same dish, rebalanced.
Ingredients
- 8 eggs egg400 g
- 3/4 cup cottage cheese200 g
- 1/4 tsp salt2 g
- 1/2 tsp black pepper1 g
- 2 handfuls baby spinach, chopped80 g
- 1 small pepper red bell peppers, finely diced100 g
- 2 stalks green onion, sliced20 g
- 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded60 g
Every ingredient links to its food page — same data, same score, same formula.
Steps
- Heat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Blend the eggs, cottage cheese, salt, and pepper until completely smooth — the blender is the whole secret to the silky texture.
- Divide the spinach, bell pepper, and green onion between 12 greased muffin cups. Pour the egg mixture over and top with cheddar.
- Bake 20–25 minutes until just set and barely golden. They puff up dramatically, then settle — that's normal.
- Eat warm, or refrigerate up to 4 days. Reheat 30 seconds in the microwave; three bites make a breakfast.
Why this score
solidly fillingNo single route carries this one — a moderate amount of protein, volume and fiber.
Three routes to fullness — one is enough
What pulls it down
Nothing here converges the way engineered food does — no sugar, no savoury and no alcohol penalty.
Computed on the finished dish, not an average of the parts: 1104 kcal goes into the pot, 863 g of ingredients comes out as ~760 g of food → 145 kcal per 100 g. Cooking moves water, and energy density is the score's biggest lever — so we show the math. Full formula here.
