Blueberry baked oats
The meal-prep breakfast that made Google's 2025 top ten: oats, eggs, banana, and thick yogurt baked into something between porridge and cake. Cottage cheese hides in the batter and takes the protein somewhere plain oatmeal never goes. Bake once, breakfast four times.

Both directions are legitimate — the score measures fullness per calorie, not virtue. Every version is the same dish, rebalanced.
Ingredients
- 2 cups oatmeal160 g
- 3 eggs egg150 g
- 2 ripe bananas bananas, mashed200 g
- 2/3 cup cottage cheese150 g
- 2/3 cup whole-milk Greek yogurt150 g
- 1 1/2 tbsp honey30 g
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder6 g
- 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon3 g
- 1 tsp vanilla extract4 g
- a pinch salt1 g
- 3/4 cup blueberries100 g
- 1/4 cup walnuts, chopped (optional)30 g
Every ingredient links to its food page — same data, same score, same formula.
Steps
- Heat the oven to 190°C (375°F). Blend everything except the blueberries and walnuts until smooth — a full minute, so the oats break down and the cottage cheese disappears.
- Fold in most of the blueberries and pour into a greased 20 cm (8-inch) baking dish. Scatter the rest of the berries and the walnuts on top.
- Bake 30–35 minutes until puffed, golden, and just set in the middle.
- Eat warm, or cool and refrigerate — it holds 4 days and reheats in a minute. A spoon of yogurt on top brings it back to life.
Where's the protein powder?
Not needed — the eggs, cottage cheese, and Greek yogurt do the same job with real food, about 18 g per serving. Versions with powder work too; the score barely moves either way.
Why this score
easy to overeatDense calories with little protein, volume or fiber to fill you up.
Three routes to fullness — one is enough
What pulls it down
Computed on the finished dish, not an average of the parts: 1718 kcal goes into the pot, 984 g of ingredients comes out as ~790 g of food → 218 kcal per 100 g. Cooking moves water, and energy density is the score's biggest lever — so we show the math. Full formula here.
