Cosmic brownie protein bites
No-bake chocolate bites that taste like the lunchbox brownie they're named after, built on oat flour, cocoa and protein powder. Rolled, chilled, done in fifteen minutes — and dense enough that two is genuinely a portion.

Both directions are legitimate — the score measures fullness per calorie, not virtue. Every version is the same dish, rebalanced.
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup whole grain oat flour80 g
- 2 scoops whey protein, chocolate60 g
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder25 g
- 1/2 cup peanut butter120 g
- 3 tbsp maple syrup60 g
- 3 tbsp 2% milk40 g
- 40 g dark chocolate 60-69%, melted, to drizzle40 g
Every ingredient links to its food page — same data, same score, same formula.
Steps
- Stir the oat flour, protein powder and cocoa together in a bowl.
- Add the peanut butter and maple syrup and work it in — it will look far too dry at first. Add the milk a spoonful at a time until it holds when squeezed.
- Roll into 16 balls and set them on a lined tray.
- Drizzle over the melted chocolate and chill 20 minutes to set. They keep a week in the fridge, or freeze.
Mine are crumbly.
Different protein powders drink wildly different amounts of liquid — whey isolate is thirstier than a blend. Keep adding milk a teaspoon at a time; the dough should feel like marzipan, not sand.
Why this score
easy to overeatDense calories with little protein, volume or fiber to fill you up.
Three routes to fullness — one is enough
What pulls it down
Computed on the finished dish, not an average of the parts: 1750 kcal goes into the pot, 425 g of ingredients comes out as ~425 g of food → 412 kcal per 100 g. Cooking moves water, and energy density is the score's biggest lever — so we show the math. Full formula here.
