Both directions are legitimate — the score measures fullness per calorie, not virtue. Every version is the same dish, rebalanced.

Steps

  1. Toss the apples with the lemon, cinnamon and cornstarch in the baking dish.
  2. Rub the cold butter into the oats, then stir in the yogurt, maple, walnuts and salt to a thick, clumpy topping.
  3. Drop it over the fruit in clumps with gaps — the gaps let steam out, which is what keeps a yogurt topping from going cakey.
  4. Bake at 190°C for 40–45 minutes until the juices bubble and the top is browned. Rest 15 minutes.

How scores work

Computed on the finished dish, not an average of the parts: 2257 kcal goes into the pot, 1644 g of ingredients comes out as ~1250 g of food → 181 kcal per 100 g. Cooking moves water, and energy density is the score's biggest lever — so we show the math. Full formula here.

Computed from the ingredients' USDA data — nothing typed by hand. Every number is traceable, every score recomputable.
